A great trend in urban planning has been the increase of urban parks, often located in unexpected places.  Many times, a former industrial site is repurposed into a social space, creating a welcome oasis for residents, visitors and/or employees to enjoy and improve their quality of life.

One of the challenges for those responsible for implementing these creative, out-of-the-box landscapes is dealing with soil that may not be ideal due to previous operations on the site.

In the case of an elevated park, the rhizosphere must be created to support both the plant life and stormwater management, therefore requiring careful design and installation of varied soil types, including custom engineered soils.

We have a vast portfolio of projects requiring custom blended soils, and understand the process from bid spec through soil testing to on-time deliveries in tight, congested sites.  In fact, for one project, our soil was delivered to the site by barge!
