What good is a process if you can’t control each and every aspect of it? We find that the only way to guarantee a quality product is to keep up with best practices and to apply them each and every day.
When mushroom compost is brought back to us from the mushroom farms, we adjust the carbon and nitrogen ratio and then form it into long windrows for the final composting cycle.
We carefully monitor the temperature of the compost and turn the windrows when the timing is right. When the composting cycle is complete, the compost is moved into a large covered building so that it can be cured, stored and sheltered from the elements.
As our orders come in we take the compost from the buildings and blend it into our various soil mixtures. All of our blending and formulating takes place on a concrete surface to ensure the cleanest product possible This also avoids cross contamination with other ingredients.
We stockpile up to 15,000 yards of our Enriched Topsoil, screened and ready to ship. The ‘Dirt Shed’ as we like to call it, is our on-site covered area that protects the product from the elements… No matter what mood Mother Nature is in.
