#TBT to 2018 when #SoilYourUndies was the latest soil trend and a cheeky way to bring attention to the power of microbes in healthy soil. We accepted the challenge, and planted a few pairs of Fruit of the Looms in our compost piles.
The New Phytologist's hot-off-the-press study "Soil health assessment using buried cotton underpants with the help of 1000 citizen scientists" mirrors our results as shown in their "Underpants Index". For context, our photo was taken 19 days after we planted. Our compost is full of hungry microbes, eager to go to work in your soil. @compostingcouncil nph.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/ppp3.70259
