TurfSoil has a rich dark brown color, is screened to 1/2″ and is a light weight fine textured loam to sandy loam soil classification. It has an organic matter content between 4-6%, a near neutral pH and a balanced mineral and fertility spectrum.
Sports Turf rootzones built or topdressed with TurfSoil are most successful at combating soil compaction and maintaining robust healthy turf. Because TurfSoil is blended with our TurfDress Compost, the organic matter provides excellent soil aggregation and pore space, resulting in good infiltration during rain events as well as good moisture holding capacity in dry times. This ideal soil structural matrix not only helps resist compaction but encourages deep rooting turf which is more wear resistant and reduces divoting. TurfSoil also provides slow release fertility and all the soil biology healthy turf needs to thrive.
