Chadds Ford Bridge
The historic Chadds Ford Bridge is a six-span, closed-spandrel arch design spanning nearly 2,000 acres across the Brandywine River. Constructed in 1925, the bridge lacked sidewalks, road shoulders, and had a limited load capacity, which impacted traffic access and pedestrian safety.
Laurel Valley Soils supplied the sitework contractor with a custom blend of leaf compost and aged mulch fines. This material was used to amend the salvaged onsite topsoil for landscape stabilization within the floodplain.
